Mitchell has sailed over 60.000 nautical miles at sea, fully crewed, double handed and solo. He sailed alone around Denmark on a 6.5 meter wooden boat when he was only 18 years old, has competed in the Rolex Fastnet Race twice, trained and captained a Chinese match racing team, and crossed the North Sea twice on a 5.5 meter sailboat. He has extensive sailing experience in many different boats and classes such as: SB20, J80, different keelboats up till 70 ft and a Volvo Ocean Race 60 yacht. Now it’s time to fulfill his dream of sailing in the Classe Mini and competing in the Mini Transat Race.
Mitchell’s passion for sailing led him to experience many great adventures and projects in the past. He is aware of the skills necessary to compete on a high level. He understands that preparation is key in an ocean racing project. He is confident that his drive and passion for the sport combined with the ‘Never Give Up’ attitude will lead to success!
